- Murray, Utah-based Beyond (NYSE:BYON) announced that it will sell 75% of its ownership stake in its Zulily brand to Eagan, Minnesota-based Lyons Trading Company. According to the sale news release, with an underlying valuation of $6.7 million, Beyond will receive $5 million for its majority sale of Zulily, when the transaction is closed.
Acquisition and Merger News
Noted below are brief write-ups about two Utah-based firms that announced acquisition, merger, funding, and/or partnership news in March 2025 where the financial terms were not disclosed.
- Pleasant Grove, Utah-based Kenect has acquired Austin, Texas-based Auto Labs, "... an AI-native platform focused on fixed operations and customer experience for automotive dealerships." According to the acquisition news release, with the acquisition, Kenect will fold Auto Labs' "... array of conversational and generative AI capabilities ..." into Kenect's suite of solutions that serve over 10,000 automotive dealerships. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
- Orem, Utah-based Greenix Pest Control made two acquisitions in March 2025: it acquired the Spidexx Pest Control office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Additionally, Greenix also announced in March that it has acquired Chicago, Illinois-based Proactive Pest . According to the Greenix news releases, "... Greenix now operates in 19 states (and) serv(es) over 200,000 households nationwide." Financial terms of the neither of the two acquisitions were not disclosed.

Noted below are brief write-ups about eight Utah-based firms that announced hirings/promotions of nine senior executives.
- Murray, Utah-based FinWise Bancorp (NASDAQ:FINW) has appointed its President, Jim Noone, to the Chief Executive Officer position at the bank. According to the company news release, Noone has served as the FinWise President since March 2023, a role he will continue to hold.
- Provo, Utah-based Green Dot (NYSE:GDOT) has hired Kim Olson as its Chief Risk Officer. According to the Green Dot news release Olson joins the bank holding company from "... Discover Financial Services where she was the Head of the Office of Remediation."
- Bountiful, Utah-based Burt Brothers Tire and Services has hired David Celenza as its Chief Operating Officer. According to the company news release, Celenza joins Burt Brothers from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida-based TBC Corporation where he was its Vice President of Business Operations.
- Salt Lake City-based Graduation Alliance has promoted Shawn Smith, Ph.D. to CEO from COO. According to the company news release, "... Graduation Alliance develops highly effective alternative education and workforce training programs ... schools and communities across the nation." Smith replaces Ron Klausner who will remain with the company as its Executive Chairman.
- Provo-based Sky Zone has made to senior executive changes. Specifically, according to the company release, Mike Revak has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer from President of Franchise (after 11 years with the firm).
- Additionally, Sky Zone has hired Sherin Sakr as its Chief Legal Officer. Sakr was previously CLO for Denver, Colorado-based WellBiz Brands.
- Lindon, Utah-based Trucordia has hired Aaron Davidson as Senior Vice President (SVP), Broking and Strategy. According to the Trucordia announcement, Davidson joins the company from Denver, Colorado-based Peak 8 Advisors where he was a Managing Partner.
- Cottonwood Heights, Utah-based Breeze Airways has hired Jeff Weber as its Chief People Officer. According to the company news release, Weber officially joined Breeze on 24 March 2025. Most recently he was Chief Operations and People Officer for Lehi-based Xevant.
{NOTE: I first met Weber over a decade ago when he was EVP People and Places for Instructure, and I can honestly say "He's the real deal." In my opinion, this is a massively huge "get" for Breeze. Congrats all the way around!}
- Sandy, Utah-based Med One has hired Sheri Thomas as its Chief Financial Officer. According to the company news release, Thomas was most recently an Associate Professor of Accounting at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
